What is your most EMBARRASSING puke story?? (I have one)?

i have one of my own which was not so funny when it happened to me but still…

so it was at a theme park and i had just ate a hot dog with american mustard, cheese, onions, the lot and a huge shake and a soft serve icecream. my girlfriend was begging me to go on this upside down ride with her so telling myself i would be okay i agreed. after about 30sec i felt so physically sick but i told myself to hold it in. towards the end when i thought i would get through it, my gf leaned over to kiss me when i projectile vomited right into her mouth and on her lap! i was sooo ashamed and then she starting barfing and she didnt talk to me for a month. we are just friends now but my mates will never let me live it down. worst most humiliating day of my life.

ALL AMERICAN HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS, PLEASE HELP?

I’m a 17 year-old, pretty outgoing girl from Finland and will be moving to the Washington D.C. area this August. To be honest, the idea of changing from a 300 student high school to a 2000 student one really freaks me out, even though I’m a fluent American English speaker. So, I’d like to know what high school truly is like where you live. Are there actually very dominant cliques and stuff (the cheerleaders and geeks, athletes, etc) in your school? Is the food actually crap (double cheese burgers, pizza and other not-so-healthy stuff every single day)? How do people generally cope with newcomers, and most of all, how the hell am I supposed to find people to hang out with from that huge stream of people?? Even though I usually have no problems making new friends, the idea of being left all alone in a new school and country scares me.

And last – as pointless as it might sound – during the first day of school in the cafeteria, where should I sit? Don’t wanna accidentally crash into some table of geeks or jocks or Edward Cullen. Haha.

I don’t have an accent or anything and guess I don’t look too exotic either, so I wouldn’t really stand out from the crowd and be “interesting” in that sense. Should I take up a hideous Finnish accent to be noticed? Or tattoo a raccoon on my forehead? Or walk around with a sign saying “FINNISH IMMIGRANT SEEKING FOR COMPANY”? Ha.

something from america to bring to germany as a gift?

i’m an american student who will be going to germany for 2 weeks, and i will be staying with a host family. my german teacher told me that it is proper etiquette to bring a few small gifts for the host family, stuff from my state, wisconsin.

i’m thinking of getting them some good wisconsin cheese, some nice wisconsin maple syrup, and something native american, like a dreamcatcher. would those be decent gifts?

Swiss-American misunderstanding?

In Switzerland we have hundreds of different sorts and types of cheese. Why is it that the Americans on here mostly seem to know and refer to ‘Swiss cheese’ only? What kind of cheese is this ‘Swiss cheese’ anyway?

I’ve bought a bottle of Lea & Perrins sauce (the UK kind – I think the American recipe’s different). It’s just something I never thought to try. I love the flavour – I’ve had it on my cheese on toast – but I don’t know what to do with it. What can you put it in and what recipes is it good with?
Oh right, someone just told me that in the US it’s sweeter and not as spicy, and made with corn syrup.

Cinnamon in apple tart, cakes, puddings, pancakes, waffles, buns and muffins. yuk, yuk, yuk. I can’t stand cinamon, and why put slices of cheese on apple pie. Why aren’t American’s boring and eat like us British?

Cheese without animal rennet?

I have been a vegetarian for 10 or 12 years now and make a lot of dishes that includes cheese i also love hallomi cheese, i found out a few months ago that cheese is made with animal rennet in and they kill baby calfs to take it from there stomach’s and it has to be baby one’s. I rang cathedral city cheese makers and a lady there assured me that they only use vegetarian rennet but i have since been told that this is not true and the same applies to hallumi. I rang the vegetarian society and a man there said to me that there are some cheeses out there with animal rennet you have to look which i have done but cant find any. I am sitting here reading my good food vegetarian magazine that comes out each month and there are about 50 dishes they have made with cheese such as vegetarian mozzarella, veg mature cheddar, veg parmasan, veg feta,veg halloumi, mascaepone but that does not state what rennet, vegetarian gruyere, veg goat’s cheese and ricotta, i can only find one of these cheeses with a V on it which was a medium chedder, why when i rang the vegetarian society they could not tell me where this cheese was and what cheeses are safe for vegetarians when they have used it in most of there food, i was going to join them today but i am being put off because of not getting straight answers. Is there any vegetarians out there that can tell me where to get all this from. I live in Kent England and every time i type in what cheese has veg rennet in i get all american cheese company’s come up with there listings like cabot. I will be grateful for your help, i miss cooking with cheese and miss a cheese roll or salad. Thankyou
