Cut the cheese into 1/2" thick by 3" sticks and put a bamboo stick into it.

Then Freeze the sticks. You have to do this so the batter has a chance to cook before the cheese melts.

Batter:
1c Flour
1/2c Corn Meal
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/2tsp Salt

Add in:
1 Egg
1 cup water.

Let sit for about two minutes then add some more water until it is about the thickness of pancake batter.

You also need:
Corn starch

Roll the frozen sticks in the corn starch then shake off any extra. Dip into the batter and deep fry at 350 deg. When the sticks start to ooze cheese, they're done.

I use to make these with cream cheese mixed with a little pureed chipotle pepper in it. I made them into balls about 3/4" inch in diameter but no sticks..

Comment on can cooking food in the microwave cause someone to be sick? by Chef Roach

In a fast food place if they are microwaving their burger after grilling, they are trying to make sure it is cooked through to the center without burning the exterior.

Fast food places don't give you the option of a rare burger, or anything other than a burger cooked through the way they serve them. The quality of the meat is ok, but it isn't the same as you would get in a better restaurant, so you would want to be sure it's cooked through (read well-done) to prevent any possibility of foodborne illness. Ground meat lends itself to mishandling and problems.

My comments below are an oversimplified explanation of what microwaving meat does.

Microwaving meat will make it tender for a couple of minutes, then, on resting, it turns it into something incredibly tough. Microwaving causes the water molecules in food cells to boil, breaking the cell walls. When you cook meat in other manners, the liquid gets pulled back into the meat on resting, but there is nothing to hold onto the liquid after microwaving, so it tightens up on itself. (There was a detailed article with diagrams about this in Cook's Illustrated a couple of years ago.)

A fast food burger gets eaten pretty quickly, so the microwaving probably also gives you a burger that's tender for the first few minutes from when they serve it. If you let it sit a while I imagine it's like biting into a hockey puck.

So, the meat toughening up (becoming almost indigestible) could be causing your friend gastric distress after eating.

I have never become sick from eating something from the microwave, but if that person say's he feels sick from it I would assume its just a mental thing, like if he didn't know it was microwaved he probably wouldn't feel sick. Or he just didn't want to pay, either way I wouldn't really know.

Naan Bread (or Roti) is made from a Sharps flour (its very fine, you have to get this from a Indian Grocer shop), Ghee (clarified butter) and hot water. Depending on how much you want to make usually around 2 cups of Sharps Flour, about 3/4 cup of melted Ghee and 1 cup of boiling water. Add water to flour and knead, when conbined add ghee(it will become greasy looking) this helps when cooking. Roll into little balls and then with a rolling pin, shape into naan bread and place on a hot plate. Turning on once on each side.

Good Luck!!!

Ingredients
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast 1 cup warm water 1/4 cup white sugar 3 tablespoons milk 1 egg, beaten 2 teaspoons salt 4 1/2 cups bread flour 2 teaspoons minced garlic (optional) 1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand about 10 minutes, until frothy. Stir in sugar, milk, egg, salt, and enough flour to make a soft dough. Knead for 6 to 8 minutes on a lightly floured surface, or until smooth. Place dough in a well oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and set aside to rise. Let it rise 1 hour, until the dough has doubled in volume.
Punch down dough, and knead in garlic. Pinch off small handfuls of dough about the size of a golf ball. Roll into balls, and place on a tray. Cover with a towel, and allow to rise until doubled in size, about 30 minutes.
During the second rising, preheat grill to high heat.
At grill side, roll one ball of dough out into a thin circle. Lightly oil grill. Place dough on grill, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, or until puffy and lightly browned. Brush uncooked side with butter, and turn over. Brush cooked side with butter, and cook until browned, another 2 to 4 minutes. Remove from grill, and continue the process until all the naan has been prepared.
