I would say under the broiler but why turn the oven on when it’s so quick in the frying pan?
If your cooking it in the oven, I would guess that you have a “roast” setting
Prepare your sandwich, butter on the outside of the bread, cheese inside, put in oven directly on rack [in middle of oven] put a pan underneath for drippings, cook at 350 for about 8/10 minutes.
Check on it after that, good luck, and yummy!!
using the stove is faster and if you do it in the oven, the cheese will be burnt by the time the bread gets cooked.
you must toast the bread FIRST
then turn the broiler on HIGH
broil for 45 minutes
Butter the bread slices & arrange on a cookie sheet under the broiler.
When done (golden) pair up with cheese slices & return just to melt.
You don’t have a stove? If not, you can also toast the bread, butter lightly, insert some cheese and microwave for about 30 seconds.
gerogre forman grill
Turn the broiler on.
Butter one side of each slice of bread, put on your broiler rack butter side up for a couple minutes to toast. You have to check it pretty frequently because toast burns quickly under such high heat.
Once it is toasted, take it out and put the cheese on the non-buttered side of one slice, put slice in broiler till cheese melts. That takes very little time so be extra careful.
Put your other piece of bread on top, maybe warm for a couple seconds and its done.
total time is like 5-6 mins? You can do the same thing with the oven but the bread may get a little dried out and it takes longer.
here’s an easier way, toast the bread in a toaster. put one slice of bread on each pieace of bread when done. then put it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds. it’s so good! and easy to make!
