BROCCOLI WITH CHEESE SAUCE
1 1/2 lbs. fresh broccoli
6 oz. process American cheese, sliced
1/3 c. milk
1/4 tsp. onion salt
1 drop red pepper sauce
Heat remaining ingredients over medium heat, stirring frequently until cheese is melted and mixture is smooth, 6 to 8 minutes. Pour cheese sauce over broccoli. 4 servings.
One (10 oz.) package frozen broccoli spears, cooked and drained can be substituted for the fresh broccoli.
Cook 2 tablespoons of flour in 2 tablespoons of oil or butter over medium-low heat. Keep stirring so it doesn’t burn and until the mixture turns from white to a light golden brown. Gradually add one cup of milk warmed on the stove to the flour mix. Stir with a whisk or a fork to keep flour from forming lumps. When smooth, let simmer until thickened. Add 1/2 cup of grated cheddar cheese to sauce and stir until cheese is melted. Pour over broccoli. Don’t burn your mouth!
I steam the broccoli, drain all the water off, put broccoli back into pan without steamer insert, lay slices of cheese on top and put a lid on it. The heat will melt the cheese and no milk is needed.
i will help you! just put the slices into a bowl/plate then microwave it.it will be vary melted then spread over broccoli. BAM! its done!
of course, you have to do your own waze with the broccoli like cooking them or dicing them and sutch
