How long does it take for UNwrapped UNrefrigerated cheddar cheese to go bad?
Filed in Category Cheddar Cheese
I opened the block of cheddar and made a cheese omelette around 1. I just got back from shopping and it’s almost 4. I noticed the opened cheese lying on the counter…the exposed area looks a little crusty. It’s a brand new block and I *just* got back from food shopping. Think it’s still good?

Its fine, you can cut off the little part that got hard, wrap it up and stick it in the fridge.
Gubmint cheez dont go bad son… oh lawdy they always take food stamps
if its not too warm wherever u are storing it, it can be good up to and over a week but that depends on the type of cheese [type of cheddar] if its about 65degrees max u should be cool
It would take a few days to see some mold on it- but don’t forget that cheese is made from the molding process (only it’s very meticulously controlled). As long as you cut off any “bad looking” parts, you can wrap it up and put it back in the fridge and you’ll be fine to eat it.
for one thing would you consider leaving milk out that long good? im hopeing you say now because cheese is also a milk dariy product and leaving it out that long makes it go bak so i would rather better be safe then sorry and throw it away
Sure it is still good. Just trim the dry part off. Just like if you get cheese that gets a little mold on it in the frig you just trim it off and it is still perfectly good.
