if a cheese product is labeled italian, is it spicy?

Filed in Category Italian Cheeses

Purchased Kraft Italian cheese which is a blend of Mozzarella and Parmasean cheese. My mom said she didn’t like it because it was Italian. Does the word Italian mean it’s supposed to be spicy or something?

No. Just because it says italian doesn’t make it spicy.

no it means it is an italian blend of cheese, mozzarella(which is on every pizza in the country basically ) is italian and so is parmasean

No, that product isn’t spicy. It’s just cheese. No peppers or spices of any kind are added. The common supermarket cheeses that are spicy are usually labeled with the word “pepper” in the name like “pepper jack” or Mexican/Tex-Mex like “Mexican blend”. I can’t think of any common Italian cheese off the top of my head that is spicy. My guess is your mom doesn’t know much about cheese. Not liking any cheese because it’s Italian cuts out a lot of diverse products. That would cut out mozzarella, parmesan, ricotta, fontina, gorgonzola, asiago, etc. They are all very different. All Italian but not much else in common.

No. Mozzerella and Parmasean are both Italian cheeses, as in made in Italy (well, originated in Italy) and very commonly used in Italian food.
