Can I have some vol au vent recipes please?
Filed in The Category Cheese Recipes
I love to make stuffed vol au vents from time to time and I’m looking for new recipe ideas.
My favourite one is to stuff them with shredded roast chicken, bacon pieces, corn, grated tasty cheese, chives, light cream to keep it moist and then just some pepper for flavouring. Bake in the oven and devour!
What else can I try?
Anything but asparagus please.
Did I eat too much (I know it wasn’t healthy, but was the quantity alright)?

Fat belly? What??!! Help please?

Fat/Skinny What???!!?
I am 5’6 and 130 lbs (59 kg) like 9 stone 4 lbs….
and I want to lose some belly fat (which I think is caused by stress). I’ve always had abs and no fat, very lean. I have this bit of fat on either side of my bellybutton. (I am 22% body fat now).. Some days I look really thin (when I don’t eat much) and other days (If I ate more that day or the day before ) the fat “patch” seems bigger! It seems like I have to barely eat just to stay on the small-medium size, but if I eat a little more, I just get bigger. Yesterday I ate: coffee plus piece of toast and egg.. jamba juice drink (300ish calories) dinner was a big slice cheese pizza with salad and sweet tea. Dessert was a cupcake with a chocolate milk! Today I ate a bowl of stew, 4 patties made from refried beans, 2 large cups sweet tea from Chick fil a and an 8 count nuggets. What is up guys?
How can I shed fat? I walk everywhere (I am in college). I really hate this.. even on my skinny days I feel the layer of fat covering my abs
What about the Dukan diet?!
Usually I eat whole grains like quinoa, brown rice, or whole wheat pasta with legumes such as Urad daal, pinto beeans, chickpeas, lentils. I eat lean mean — usually chicken, and I eat tofu. I love fruit and salad and I like to shop at the Farmer’s market. I also eat no sugar Greek yoghurt with raw almonds and flax seeds. I’m usually really healthy.
I’ll make Thai curry with bean sprouts, chicken or tofu with veggies or indian eggplant and tomato over rice. Don’t get me wrong I shun McDonalds, pretty much ALL chain restaurants, fried foods, hydrogenated oils, artificial coloring and sweeteners, and hormones and antibiotics in my meat and eggs. and I sometimes annoy my friends when I talk about nutrition.
Yesterday was my birthday so I went and ate pizza and dessert. Today i gave blood and needed to have sugar and lots of liquids. I knew I needed protein so I settled on “What the heck I haven’t eaten nuggets in about a year, why not?”I used to work out every day but not as much now

HELP!! I need really easy recipes for cup day?
Filed in The Category Cheese Recipes
I am having a BBQ for cup day. We are having about 12 people over. So far i have planned the usual nibblies… chips, dips, cheese & Kabana.
If anyone has some easy finger food recipes.. I really suck at thinking up what to have. Not a great imagination you could say.
A friend is doing a platter with some olives, sundried tomato’s etc. I am kind of stressing that i am not going to have the “right” stuff. Some of the peeple coming are my partners friends and i need to make a good impression
My daughter eats so much..?
Filed in The Category Grilled Cheese
She is 13months. Doesnt drink much milk. Drinks alot of water. Has 3 meals and a whole heap of snacks.
i dont know if im over feeding her? i dont know if how much she is eating is bad. Will she stop when she is full? Is it possible to overfeed her? she is extremely active (like most 1 yo’s.)
this is an approximate of what she ate just yesterday. over the WHOLE day
1 scrambled egg and toast (leaving half the toast)
a cheese stick
3/4 banana
Quater of Dad’s cinamon donut (bad yeh i know)
3 small kid size rice cakes with vegemite.
small bowl of yoghurt (like maybe 6tea spoons worth) with some pear in it.
2 oat biscuits (smallish)
a few bite size pieces of rockmelon/honeydew melon and plums.
and for dinner she had some mushroom pasta, half a kebab stick of chicken (like maybe 6bite size pieces) a tiny bit of mashed potato and vegies.
WOW! she eats so much!!!! but she only had llike 1 cup of milk. and no matter what i do (we offer her milk every half hour or so ) she wont drink more milk.
Over all, she eats healthy. lots of fruit snacks. things are grilled not deep fried, and she drinks a lot of water.
This really seems like a lot of food. is it alot of food?? or is this okay?
ok then Andie i was just asking the question because obviously i didnt know. to me is seems like she is eating all day long. there is probably somethin i have missed. glad to hear this is a good amount from everyone.
Hey Mama- nah she doesnt nurse. Ive been trying to get her yoghurts daily and some form of cheese. plus some days had milk in her weetbix or scrambled eggs. i figured that would count towards the milk intake so im not too worried. thanks!!
And Blessed – yeah rice milk, someone suggested that not long ago. i might even give that a try. thanks for reminding me
