this is the menu for our reception venue, we are going for canapes, because we couldn’t afford to invite everybody we wanted at sit down prices, and for us it was more important who was there, not what we ate :D
there is also a set childrens menu, so this is for over 13′s. kids get fish and chips
no vegos, and both families love seafood :D

Please help im trying to lose weight, i have made up a food plan, exercise plan as follows:

Breakfast: high fibre cerial w low fat milk n banana n tspn honey + cup water

Mtea: sustagen drink (w low fat milk)
+ some mixed dried fruit n nuts

Lunch: wholemeal bread sandwich w cup salad, slice low fat cheese + little low fat mayo + cup water

Atea: sustagen drink (w low fat milk)
peice of fruit

Dinner: 100g lean meat, 2 cups veg, 20g low fat cheese.
1 cup fruit salad w 1/2 cup low fat yogurt + cup water

Exercise: 30 mins step aerobics every day.
15 mins weights every day.
+ walking where possible (eg leave car home when shopping)

Will this make me lose weight, the calories are supposed to be within the right range with what i worked out, but does that seem like a lot of food ????
im allergic to fish!! can only eat prawns


I need cheesecake help!!?

I’ve attempted to make 2 cheesecakes now, the second wasn’t too bad. I’m not sure wether saying what has gone wrong will help or not so I’ll tell you anyway. The first one was lumpy and tasted like cream cheese rather than chocolate and the second was pretty good except when I added the melted chocolate half of the chocolate set on the bottom of the bowl and when I attempted to fold the whipped cream in, it got lumps of cream – which I removed.So, what I’m asking is, does anyone have a simple recipe for a plain cheesecake? I ask for a plain cheesecake as I like to add chocolate and other flavours to it.

I am eating very unhealthy things during the day. I want to eat healthy now. Currently this is what I eat:

Breakfast: Milo cereal
Recess: 2 packets of chips, 1 juice
Lunch: 2 packets of chips, 1 juice
Snack: Chocolate
Dinner: Rice with soup

So as you can see my diet is very unhealthy. I want to eat things that are healthy and don’t have much sugar. Here are some things I can eat and the things I can’t eat:

Can eat:

- cheese
- bread
- jam
- butter
- fruit
- vegetables likes carrots

Can’t eat:

- meat
- vegetables like lettuce

Cheese melting chemistry.?

I want cheese to melt into a sauce and not look like soft chewing gum in separated oil.

Does this depend on the type of cheese or how it’s been heated?

Eg I tried to make macaroni and cheese once successfully with Mozarella cheese. I tried another time with a different cheese but the cheese never mixed into the sauce….

I am craving diamond dry puppy food, but only to smell not to eat. I am also craving the smell of oxi-clean in powder form. I have also been known to eat mandarin oranges and mac and cheese (not mixed) as well as reese’s ice cream and black olives (not mixed either) and ice from McDonald’s. This is my 3rd pregnancy. I have never craved anything odd before, but when I was pregnant with my daughter I craved dr. pepper and cheese slices. And while pregnant with my son I craved cheetos puffs and the wendy’s chocolate frostys. I liked to dip the cheetos in the frostys. Guess that was kind of odd…


Is this an ok way of eating if I want to lose weight?

I need to lose a significant amount of weight, but strict diets don’t work for me, I need to eat a good amount of food while watching the calories.
Here’s a sample day:

For breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs using only the egg whites and 1/4 of the yolk. 1 piece wholewheat toast, no butter.

Morning snack: Fruit salad equal to 1 serving of fruit, dollop of low fat yougurt and a tablespoon of natural oats.

Lunch: 1 slice low fat ham, or 1 small can tuna drained of oil with a large salad, a sprinkling of low fat cheese, and just a drizzle of fat free dressing-such as balsamic vinegar.

Afternoon snack: A small piece of fruit and youghurt, or 1 slice wholewheat bread with avocado.

Dinner: Small portion of grilled fish, chicken, or beef. Good sized serving of vegies or salad, with 1 small potato mashed with non fat milk.

Nightime snack: Small salad with sprinkling of low fat cheese and fat free dressing, or 1 piece of wholewheat toast with avocado or tomato.

Throughout the day, I drink mostly water with a couple of cups of decaf coffee with just a drop of non-fat milk and sweetner.

Each day I have a half an hour walk, every second day I do some weights with 2kg dumbells (as I’m new to exercise lol). On alternate days I do some situps and stepper exercises. I also try to do some boxing every couple of days, for about 15 minutes.

How does this sound? Too many calories, not enough? Is there anyway I could improve the diet or exercise? I’m trying to ease into the exercise because I’m very unfit and want to just gradually work my way up.

1yr old won’t drink cow’s milk…?

I have been breastfeeding my daughter now for a bit over a year and I’m trying to introduce cow’s milk so I can ween her off the breast. She has been eating toddler yoghurt and cheese bread sticks and she hasn’t had any bad reactions too either of them. When I give her milk in her sippy cup she takes a sip and plays with it in her mouth before she spits it out. I have tried warming it up a bit and adding a little bit of sugar but she still won’t drink it.
If anyone can help me with any suggestions that would be great or if you experienced the same problems.
