What can you make, out of sliced cheddar cheese?

Filed in Category Cheddar Cheese

I have cheddar cheese in my fridge. I always eat them with bread but still couldn’t finish it & has about 10 slices remaining. Any idea how to eat those cheese differently? Any related recipes?

Slice and apple and put the cheddar cheese on top. Even better, buy or make n apple pie and melt the cheddar cheese on it. You would be surprised at how good it is.

you can make sweedish cheese balls. i know it sounds suggestive but they are delitious. especially when they are smothered in ranch. i like the feel of the balls in my mouth and it does not dissapoint.

I’m not suggesting that this is the healthiest option, but you can cook it in a pan (with cooking spray) on medium heat, topped with bacon bits and green onions, until the bottom is brown, then take it off and put some sour cream on it. It tastes just like a potato skin… It’s a low-carb recipe that I make occasionally…

Cheddar Cheese can be frozen, just wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then place in a plastic bag and seal well after pushing the excess air out so that it does not lose all of it’s moisture.

Melt it over baked potatoes, make a side order of noodles and add a little milk and some butter. Grilled cheddar sandwiches are yummy! Melt it over broccoli, cauliflower or carrots. Make wing dings, put a hot dog in a slice of bread (so you can toothpick it together) place the cheese on top and put it in the oven on 400 degrees for about 8 mins. Hope this gives you some ideas!!! ?

Put them on a cook sheet, put them in the oven to melt SLIGHTLY. Next put them in muffin tin and
fill with what ever you would like. Tuna, chopped meat, apple pie filling

slit open a chicken breast (not all the way through though), stuff in garlic butter, close the chicken and season and coat with breadcrumbs, cook in a little oil and butter, when chicken is cooked through put cheese slice on top on the chicken breast and let the heat come through until it melts the cheese on top slightly.
serve with a simple tomato salad.

    1) Cut the cheese into squares. Use either a paper plate or parchment paper – spread the squares out and put them in the microwave for one minute or until just starting to turn brown. The oil will separate from the cheese – that’s OK. Remove the squares and place them on a paper towel. In about a minute they will harden and you will have these nice crispy little cheese bites that are like cheez-its but without the starch.

    2) Melt a slice of cheese over some cooked veggies.

    3) Add a slice of cheese to a baked potato – broil until just melted.

    4) Chop it up and add it to scrambled eggs.

    5) Cheese and crackers

We make cheese and onion sandwiches…. yum!! You can also make Welsh rarebit – toast one side of a slice of bread. Turn it over, place slices of cheddar on the other side. Dot some Worcestershire sauce, pepper, salt if you want to, and place under the grill…. very tasty!

I also use grated cheddar in macaroni cheese, as a topping over savory pasta bakes… the list is endless. I’m sure if you do a google search you’ll get a huge variety of recipes and options. Cheddar, especially mature and extra mature cheddar is one of the most versatile of cheeses that you can find to cook with.
