What kind of cheese are we talking about? It's not necessarily ALL soft cheeses, and their biggest worry is cheese made from unpastuerized milk, which is illegal to do in many parts of the US.

As long as they are thoroughly cooked, she should be good to go. They mainly warn you to stay away from the uncooked/raw/unpasteurized cheeses due to the possibility of the presence of bacteria.

Alfredo sauce is typically made with Parmesan cheese--which is a hard cheese and is safe during pregnancy. Also, it's no longer the recommendation to avoid all soft cheeses, a pregnant woman should just read labels and be sure that any cheese or dairy product she consumes is made from pasturized milk.
