What Is The Best Store Bought Mild Blue Cheese?

Filed in Category Blue Cheese

We always get takeout from this restaurant called County Sweet and I always order a side of blue cheese. When I get pizza and wings from the place down the road, we get sides of blue cheese. I tried to re-create the meal from Country Sweet and all was perfect.. except.. The blue cheese! I bought 4 different kinds from the store and they all taste really strong, not mild and good like the restaurant kind. Does anyone know what is the best store bought mild blue cheese similar to the kind you get with takeout?

Yeah i have this same problem….and restaurant blue cheese is so much better than store kinds. Its really weird. The closest i ever got was Kens Steak House Blue Cheese but even that isnt the same. Marie’s Blue Cheese is good too, but not the same

Are you talking about the blue cheese dressing; just get a good, creamy blue cheese salad dressing for dipping. There are many recipes you can find to make your own, and add more cream, buttermilk, mayo, and/or sour cream to make it creamier and less strong; then it doesn’t really matter what type of blue cheese you use. For eating, as in a nice gourmet blue cheese, try Saga Blue. Creamy and mild. And Cambezola is great too.

    We like Ken’s here.
