What’s the difference between monterey Jack cheese and Parmesan cheese?

Im using a recipe for alfredo sauce but is it ok to use monterey jack chees instead of parmesan
thats the only type of cheese that i have right now

    the taste is totally opposite of each other. Parm is a full bodied sharp salty cheese with the lowest amount of milk fat.. Monterey jack is smooth and mild.. and has allot more milk fat. Try catering your recipe towards the later 2 of the flavors, instead of going Italian w/it go for a more Latin flavor.
