Why American Cheeses Are So Low Quality (not All,but Majority) Compared To Most European Ones ? It’s Too Bad !?

I mean don’t Americans deserve to eat some GREAT American-made cheeses, instead of spending more on foreign ones ??

Unfortunately, it’s what we got used to growing up and our taste buds weren’t exposed to the variety of cheeses from other countries like they have in Europe and it’s surrounding areas. Our variety of cheeses come from different states and sometimes, american cheese manufacturers focus on quantity and speed, not quality and time. I’d much rather spend a bit more money for my cheese because I love it so much, then to sacrifice the quality of the ingredients and flavor. I guess it’s all a matter of taste and what you choose to spend more money on, there are many things I do “on the cheap”, but my cheese is not one of them, but I also think you can find quality anywhere, you just have to experiment and not always get the same thing. Great question though, thanks for asking and have a wonderful afternoon!
In the US, most consumers prefer mild cheeses while in Europe… the stinkier the cheese the better!
With that said, the US produces good mild cheeses with a few specialty cheesemakers that make stinky European style cheeses.
There are many fantastic American cheeses, but they are generally flavored for the American palate. Most larger grocery stores have an array of cheeses available-you can surely find some good American cheeses there.
your assumption is flawed
