Will Adding Ricotta Cheese To A Baked Ziti Dish Ruin It???
Filed in Category Ricotta Cheese
I’ve been looking around for baked ziti recipes and none included ricotta cheese. I LOVE ricotta cheese. So I am wondering if adding ricotta cheese to any of these recipes would ruin the Baked Zit. Has anyone ever tried it with ricotta??
Thanks for you answers.

I’ve done it, and it was good.
I would recommend mixing the ricotta with a bit of egg, parmesan and herbs (like you would for lasagne filling), then putting a layer in the middle of the casserole, with a layer of ziti mixture above and below. I find this works better than mixing it in.
The ricotta layer won’t be quite as creamy as in a lasagne because the ricotta will fall down between the zitis while it bakes, but it’s still yummy.
Mmmmm. Now you’ve got me hungry. I think I’ll make some ricotta stuffed shells! Maybe with some spinach and prosciutto and freshly grated nutmeg.
I’ve had baked ziti with ricotta cheese and it’s fabulous!
Go for it!
It sounds really good to me. Try it & see.
I think it would taste good if you bake the ricotta cheese a little and then add it to the baked ziti. But since it is your dish you can add it however you want and I think it would indeed taste good.
No it will not ruin it. Mix it in like you would for lasagna and it will be just fine.
I’ve thought about it and it sounds good to me…I love Ricotta as well. I have a recipe for a ricotta pie with pineapples…
heck no it wont ruin it, I’ve never made baked ziti without using ricotta cheese. mix that stuff up and invite me over for dinner, I’ll bring the salad!!
