Will Ground Beef And Ricotta Cheese Go Bad If They’re Unrefrigerated?
Filed in Category Ricotta Cheese
My parents go to work tomorrow for half a day and I want to surprise them by cooking a feast when they go home, so I can’t put the ingredients in the fridge while they’re home. I put them in the garage for now.
Will ground beef, ricotta cheese, and mozzarella cheese go bad if they’re unrefrigerated for a day?
Thanks.

It really depends on how warm it is in your garage. The ricotta can probably be okay as long as it’s below 70, but for the beef I would hope it’s 50 or below. Can you sneak a tray of ice out of the house to put into a plastic bag and put the beef on that and then the ricotta on top of the beef?
If you live anywhere near me, Phoenix AZ, you will all be visiting the emergency room. The ground beef WILL spoil. If you live where it snows, and the garage is unheated, you should be ok. Uncooked ground beef will spoil if stored above 42 degrees.
the cheese is fine but the ground beef should be refrigerated, a few hours won’t hurt but a day is a long time. Get an ice chest and put on ice. be careful not to let it go under water as the ice melts. It will be fine then for sure. Put the cheese in also. have a happy feast.

Of course they must remain refrigerated.
After a couple days even in the fridge, ground beef can start to turn brown and get a bit stinky.
Although if it remains under 40 degrees in your garage, then it’s the same as being in a fridge.
Dont take a chance on the beef but the cheese should be ok.
Depends
If you’re in Sourthern FL, NV, S. CA, TX and the like – yeah.
No, and do not believe anyone who says otherwise.
